I’ve never had cardinals eat fruit at our feeding stations. Obviously I’m offering a substandard meal. 😆
I only see them taking fruits from bushes and trees, always small fruits like these. In general, I agree, at feeders they just look for seeds. I guess these fruits are simply a seasonal treat.
