I was tidying up the dry stalks of a larger golden rod bed when snuggled down at the base of one plant I saw a strangely nubbly stone, I was going to pick it up when it blinked at me. “Hello Tom”, I thought, “Winter’s over”. He wriggled up from the hollow he was in and sat there for almost a couple of hours getting some warm rays from the sun, before wandering off who knows where. Handsome fellow.
