Running through the town, Hydro-Quebec have a servitude over a strip of town land which they will never make use of - as a consequence it has become a part of our parks network and a pleasant walk. People who grew up here talk of it once having been wild meadow with a vernal pool more or less where I was standing to take this photo … there is a chance that at least some it may be rewilded in the years to come and at least a part of this “golf course” grass will go for good. In the far end of the view below you may just be able to make out an area that has been experimentally sown with native wildflower seed - tomorrow, should you return, I will share a couple of photos of what is happening there. It’s nice.
