The little wooden house with the ceramic frog is (really) not a bit of faux-Victorian tweeness but was installed by the guys who renovated the pond a couple of years ago. It hides the float valve that maintains the water level. One day I will replace it with something more appropriate. The yellow flag irises are thugs and not native, but under control, while the water lilies put up their first flowers of the season on Friday. Below the surface of the water lurks a floating mat of filamentous algae that needs attending to. Altogether though, I do find this creates a harmonious image … 📸
